The problem

Every plan starts in a group chat. Most of them end there.

Somebody says we should do this sometime. Everybody agrees, loudly. Somebody asks who is free Saturday. Then nothing.

Nobody is flaky on purpose. There is just no moment where the plan turns real: no time, no place, no one who said "I'm in" and meant it.

Kept is that moment. A time, a place, a group, and a small commitment that says: I am actually going.

An illustration of a group chat. Not Kept.

The loop

That is the whole product. Everything on Kept exists to get you from the first word to the last one, and back around again.

Tonight near you

Kept opens city by city. Join the waitlist for yours.

We open a city when enough people and hosts are ready, so the first plans are full ones. Leave your email and city and we will tell you the day it opens.

The $10 difference

A little skin in the game changes the whole plan.

At $0

“yeah I’ll probably come.”

Free to say yes. Free to not show up. Six maybes, two people, one sad court.

At $10

“okay, I’m actually going.”

Same people, same plan. Now the yes means yes, and the host books a court with real numbers.

It is not a fee. It is a hold on your card, and it comes back when you show up. The only people who lose it are the ones who leave everyone else waiting.

How the hold works

A hold, not a charge.

You are never charged for showing up. Here is exactly what happens.

Pending hold$10You show upReleased$10
  1. 1

    You commit

When you join, we place a $10 hold on your card. It shows as pending. No money moves.

  2. 2

    You show up

You check in at the plan with one tap. That is the moment that counts.

  3. 3

    It is released

The hold is released and drops off your statement. How fast depends on your bank.

Before, during, after

A plan is more than a time and a place.

Everything a group needs, from the first yes to the last photo.

Before

Sorted before you leave the house

  • The details
  • A group chat
  • Map and exact spot
  • Add to calendar
  • Weather
  • What to bring
  • Countdown

During

"You're here."

  • Check in
  • Where the group is
  • Itinerary
  • Safety button
  • Quick polls
  • "Grabbing food after?"

After

The part that makes it a habit

  • Shared album
  • Rate the plan
  • Connect
  • Rejoin
  • Host the next one

After the plan

The plan ends. The good parts stay.

Memories, kept.

Every plan gets a shared album, only for the people who were there. The best photos rise to the top, duplicates hide, and a year from now you get "One year ago today."

Your Kept rate

The share of plans you actually kept. Show up and it climbs. It is a quiet record that you do things, and it earns you smaller holds.

Find people to do things with.

Not a dating app, and not a people browser. You meet people by doing something together, and Kept remembers who you have actually met: "done 7 plans together."

Next time, you can see which plans they joined, and bring them along.

For hosts

Host the thing you already love doing.

You already run the Sunday pickup game or the Thursday dinner. Kept fills the spots, holds everyone to their yes, and pays you after the plan through Stripe.

Price it however you like. Many hosts cover the court and keep a little for their time. A common shape:

Example, rounded

$15 per person

  • $10 Court and expenses
  • $3 To you, the host
  • $2 Platform fee
A rounded example. The platform fee is 10% of the price with a $2 minimum, and free plans with only a hold carry no fee at all.

For venues

Fill the quiet nights.

Tuesday at 7 is quiet at most places. A plan on Kept brings a table of people who committed to coming, not a maybe on a flyer.

You see how many new customers each plan brought and how many came back. Promotions are always labelled as promoted.

Clubs

Make it a weekly thing.

A club is a plan that repeats, with members who hear about each session first. Here are the kinds of clubs hosts start:

  • Example

    Saturday Hiking Club

Every Saturday at 7. A different trail each week, the same crew, a sweeper at the back.

  • Example

    Wednesday Basketball

Ten players, a booked court, teams drawn fresh each week. The hold keeps it at ten.

  • Example

    First Friday Dinner

First Friday of the month. A long table, a new restaurant, eight people who keep coming back.

Right now

I'm bored.

Tell us when you are free. We will show you something to do nearby, with people who are free too.

When are you free?

Safety

Built for meeting new people.

Showing up to meet strangers takes trust. Here is what Kept does so you can focus on the plan.

  • Plans happen in public places. New hosts must start there.
  • The exact address goes only to people who joined.
  • A safety button in every plan, one tap from emergency services.
  • 18 and over. Some plans are 21 and over, with ID checks.
  • Report or block anyone. A person reviews every report.

Questions, answered

All help topics

What is Kept?

Kept helps you find people to do things with. You discover plans that fit what you love, join with a small refundable hold, show up, and keep the memories with the people who were there. Hosts and venues create the plans.

Is the $10 a charge?

No. It is a hold, sometimes called a pending authorization. Your bank sets the amount aside, but no money moves. When you show up and check in, the hold is released.

What if I need to cancel?

Cancel 24 or more hours before and the hold is released in full. Inside 24 hours, 50% is kept, unless someone from the waitlist takes your spot. Then you get it all back.

What happens if I do not show up?

The hold is kept. Your spot was saved for you and someone else missed out on it. It also counts in your Kept rate. One miss does not define you, and your rate recovers as you keep plans.

Is this a dating app?

No. Kept is for doing things with people. There are no swipes, no photo grids and no gender filters. You meet people through a plan, in a group, doing something you both like.

Is it safe to meet strangers?

We build for it. Plans happen in public places, new hosts must start there, the exact address goes only to people who joined, and every plan has a safety button. Trust your gut: you can leave any plan, any time.

Does it cost anything?

Joining is free. Most plans only ask for a refundable hold, which comes back when you show up. Paid plans, like a court fee or a dinner, show the price up front, and you pay it when the plan happens. Kept Plus is optional.

Can I earn money hosting?

Yes, on paid plans. You set a host fee on top of costs like a court or lanes. Payouts arrive after the plan, through Stripe. Free plans with only a hold are free for everyone, host included.
