This is not a dating app.
There are no swipes, no photo grids, no match percentages and no gender filters. You do not browse people. You browse plans, and the people come with them.
If you want to meet someone romantically, that is a different app. If you want a Saturday crew, a running group or a table of people who like the same weird board game as you, you are in the right place.

After a plan, the people who were there show up in your list. That is the only way anyone gets there.

Kept counts the plans you have shared, so you remember who you keep showing up with, and they remember you.
Your activity history
The plans you kept: what, when and with whom. Private by default. You decide who sees it.
Friend of a friend
When someone you have met joins a plan, you can see it. A familiar face makes a new plan easier to say yes to.

Why we never show a photo-first people grid.
Photo grids turn people into a menu. They reward looks over showing up, and they make a social app feel like a dating app whether you want that or not.
On Kept, you see the plan first: the activity, the time, the place. Then first names. Photos are small and optional. The thing you are judged on is whether you come.
Suggestions
How people suggestions work.
“People you might enjoy” helps you find plans with people you would get on with. Here is what goes into it, and how to switch it off.

Plans, not faces
Suggestions come from plans you both kept, activities you both like and times you are both free.

Never private things
We do not use your messages, your contacts or your location history to suggest people.

You stay in control
Turn suggestions off in settings, hide yourself from other people’s suggestions, or remove anyone from your list.
Kept Plus members get unlimited suggestions. Everyone gets a few each week.
Questions, answered
Can people message me?
Only people you have been on a plan with, and only if you allow it. Everyone else reaches you through a plan.
Can I see who is going before I join?
First names and last initials, yes. Profiles open up once you are both in the plan.
Is this a dating app?
No. Kept is for doing things with people. There are no swipes, no photo grids and no gender filters. You meet people through a plan, in a group, doing something you both like.
Can I turn off people suggestions?
Yes. Turn off “People you might enjoy” in settings. You can also limit your activity history to people you have been on plans with.
What do other people see about me?
Your first name and last initial, a photo if you add one, and your Kept rate. People you have been on plans with can see which plans you did together.
Is it safe to meet strangers?
We build for it. Plans happen in public places, new hosts must start there, the exact address goes only to people who joined, and every plan has a safety button. Trust your gut: you can leave any plan, any time.
